This version of mplayer is designed to be used in a wad file. It no longer crashes when exiting, instead it resets the system and goes back to the wii menu. as always, also has sdhc support.

** UPDATE ** FCE Ultra GX 2.0.6 - SDHC support, fixed menu issue.

10-28-2008

So here is two versions, one for use in homebrew channel, and one for use in a custom channel wad.
This release also has a menu bug fix that is in the official version. (Main Menu wasn’t listing names right after you had selected a rom.) (Proper fix please re-download!!)

The only difference between the two files is how you exit them. The homebrew channel version has both “Reset System” option and “Exit to Loader”. Exit to Loader will crash if you select it while in a channel. The channel version removes Exit to Loader, and replaces Reset System to Back to Wii Menu.

HBC version: fceugx_wii_hbc.dol
Custom WAD version: fceugx_wii_wad.dol

(Proper fix, please re-download!! thnx tantric!)
HBC: fceugx_wii_sdhc_menufix2_hbc.dol
WAD: fceugx_wii_sdhc_menufix2_wad.dol

Nintendo Emulators, Now with SDHC support.

10-27-2008

I recompiled the big Nintendo emulators with the new libogc to now add sdhc support.

Tested through HBC and a PNY 8gb Class 4 card. The nes, snes, and vba emus were edited by me to be used in a channel wad, so the exit to launcher option has been removed, and the reset system menu has been renamed return to wii menu.

Dols are attached.

snes9xgx-006-wii.dol
fceugx_wii.dol
vbagx_wii.dol (1.0.3)
Fixed 1.0.4 (vbagx104_wii.dol) (The author apparently didn’t update his libogc with the latest version, so sdhc seems to be broken, this one here works fine.)
genplus_wii.dol
smsplus_wii.dol
hugo_wii.dol

mplayerwii.dol
wad-manager13.dol

edit: here are the nes+snes+gba wads as well. note that they are dirty conversions that only have the updated dols, the titles still say the old versions of the emus.

Palm OS replacement, DGOS.

10-23-2008

Seems Dmitry Grinberg has been developing his own OS called DGOS. It will act as a fully compatible Palm OS replacement. Very few details are known about it now. It has:

Its own custom kernel.
99-100% Palm software compatibility.
Possible WinMo software compatibility.
Protected Memory
++++ REAL MULTITASKING!!!!++++

Seems many of the components of his OS will be palm programs he has previously written.

Personally, I can’t wait, and I’m ready to give him my money.

Wii System update. *update for 3.3

10-23-2008

Nintendo rolled out a small update last night. The official reasons? Fix some “bugs” and to update some of the wording within the Nintendo Shop Channel. (Such as changing the name Wii Points, to Nintendo Points, for the new DSi which will have its own shop support.)

Heres a little information on whats really going on with the update:

Updated all IOSes, and IOS51

Released: 23rd October 2008

  • This blocks new installations of anything fakesigned, that is, Homebrew Channel (both new installs and updates), wads (legal and illegal), Starfall, cIOS, anything that installs IOSes secretly like AnyRegion Changer or AnyTitle Deleterxyzzy and DVDX (used for apps which have DVD support). This list is not exhaustive, but please add to it if you think of anything else.
  • This also blocks access to /dev/flash. This means raw nand dumping utilities no longer work.
  • If something is already installed then it isn’t affected, like Homebrew Channel, etc.
  • The homebrew developers are already planning how to work around this update.
  • You currently need this update to access the Wii Shop Channel.
  • If you already have the Homebrew Channel and DVDX, and aren’t planning to install anything big that will affect your Wii, then you are most likely unaffected. Normal everyday apps such as Homebrew Browser are completely unaffected as long as you already have the Homebrew Channel.
  • It updates all IOSes with the fakesigning bug, and adds IOS51.
